Hello, I am trying to add a 2nd monitor to my setup. I am presently using an ATI all-in-wonder 9600 PRO. Supposedly it will support two monitors but I don't know if they are the same image or an extension of the desktop and I can't get it to work anyway. Does anyone know if you can use the pro to set up a second monitor as an extension or will I need a second video card. In which case I will be looking for either a PCI card (not express) or a different card that will do video capture (like the pro) and support two monitors. Anyone out there have any input??

if the video card supports dual monitors, its a extention, and fro mmy experiences with aTI it will be off the Right side of the monitor. The Taskbar will only be on the Primary Screen.

you can move where the extension is, top, bottom, left or right.

you'll find the option in your desktop properties under the "advanced settings" section. it'll be a tab at the top for your ATI card

on mine it has ATI catalyst to control monitors and stuff.

Thanks for your help. I had been through the settings and advanced tabs for the ati controls. Nothing seemed to help until I reinstalled the drivers for the secondary controller of the video card.
Monitor is working fine now.

Dual 22" acer P223W's.....oooh.
