Using different DSL modem with Aliant
I recently purchased a Netopia Cayman 3346 DSL modem/router off Ebay. I wanted this modem as a backup for the Speedstream 6520 DSL modem/router which I have from Aliant. I was wondering if anyone has experience with setting up different DSL modems for Aliant service. I am experienced with computers, and have gone into the settings for the Netopia and set them the same as the Speedstream, but I still can't get internet service through it. There are many more settings in the Netopia setup screens than the Speedstream. Are the speedstream modems specifically configured for use with Aliant? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
