File System Error (-2147351799). - NS4Sale

So i have a new computer here im trying to transfer all my files off my laptop and I'm using DVD-R to do it.

Both computers are Win XP Pro NTFS file systems

so i go to copy the files off the DVD and i get this error

ERROR COPYING FILE OR FOLDER

Cannot Create or Replace File <Filename>: File System Error (-2147351799).

anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

So with some googling it turns out its a windows copy protection bullshit thing. so im trying DVD-Decrypter. Seems to be creating an ISO of the files onto my hard drive where then iguess i can use Damon tools to open them up

got it fixed

dvd decrypter just made rar files so ijust had to open them up and off we go.

what a pain though

yeah your lucky your using xp. When i had to back up my files on vista about 2 weeks ago i got the same problem... BUT NO GOD DAMN PROMPT! lol, it would just begin copying my files then just stop, i tried it like 4 times and it stopped at the same place everytime, i left it for hours once. E When i googled what was going on many people had similar problems to mine on vista, and it happened to be because of the same reason you couldnt copy yours. Your solution was better though, i just kept trying different burning programs until magicISO finally worked for me. God i love that program.

I get a kick out of the never ending give and take between copy protection and ease of use......

It never fails to amaze me how many hoops we have to jump through to do some backup tasks we are legally entitled to, yet the folks committed to breaking copyright protections can usually do so with a couple of clicks of a button.....

Drives me nuts!!!!
