I'd personally get a Q6600 or QX6700 instead of the X6800. Especially if you wait until the price cut.. Also, I'd go 3 (or 4) x Seagate 500gb's, as they'd be cheaper.. And an 8800 GTS or GTX instead of the crossfire setup. That's just me though.

A single 8800GTS 320MB is cheaper and faster than x1950Pro's in CF.

And you'd better be getting a 64bit OS to go with that ram.

I second everything haveblue said.

I'm looking into a 8800 GTS myself, but if you can afford it, a 8800 GTX, or even two in SLI is going to be a graphics power house.

ram prices are raising just so you know if I were you I would downsize to 2 gigs and 1 2900xt ATI card or something like that,
spend the rest on a set of sennheiser HD 555 headphones there godly for gaming and about 150 bux, or around 100 on ebay, they sound amazing in game and even better for music I wouldnt play without them now .

I disagree with reggie.. Ram is cheap now, and if I had a boatload of cash (~$2000) to spend on a new rig, I'd be grabbing 4 x 2gb sticks. However, I'm a ram whore, so take that with a grain of salt, I suppose. haha

regardless I would grab the headset and 2900xt

I also said ram is raising in price not there yet but consider he is buying in the future he should allocate for inflation....
