I am looking to speed up my home network. I have everything network together thru a Netgear wireless 4 port router but when I transfer data between one machine to another it's not that fast.. when I go into task manager and network it sometimes is only using like 20-45% of the capacity. Any suggestions?

Check your cables. Sometimes, the cables can cause problems.

If you can borrow another brand of router, try a different router to see if it's causing the problem or is configured improperly.

it's configured correctley.. it just is a little slow transferring large amount of data.. say 20gb over the network takes longer then i think it should..

Just as a test try removing any encryption from the network to see what happens with data transfer speeds
