Default Laptop Screen Cleaning

I have a laptop that the screen has whiteish marks on it, (looks like off the keyboard when the lid's shut, anyone know how to remove them?
Thanks!

If it's "etched" into the screen you likely can't do anything with it but the proper way to clean your screen is with a solution of 50% water and 50% rubbing alcohol and a very soft cotton cloth

Thanks, I've already tried that one but no luck ...oh well. Is this a common issue for laptops? And if so, how do you prevent it? I've read about putting a mouse pad in between...but that seems to thick and might crush the screen.

Thanks,

Sounds like your screen is scratched so not likely a lot of hope. A thin piece of foam, like new electronics sometimes come sealed in would be good to use, it's white and about ~ 1mm thick or so. Not sure what it's called but I have a large piece here an LCD monitor came wrapped in if you want it.

I keep a clean swiffer cloth around for quick screen dusting. You can store it over the keyboard to prevent finger residue from transfering from the keys to the screen

Use a dryer sheet - they're anti-static so it keeps the screen clean longer as it wont attract dust.

I clean my LCD screens the same way I clean my glasses. Eyeglass solution and a microfiber cloth. Seems to work very well.
