In the South end of Nova Scotia I have a beautiful, 4 bedroom Country Home with ocean views nestled in the small, and very friendly fishing village of Baccaro. The convenience of shopping is offered in the nearby town of Barrington (the lobster capital of Canada) to the East or to the West in the town of Shelburne.
My 4 bedroom house sits on top of a small hill with over a private acre of lush grass and soft ferns (I’m usually barefoot), it’s outlined in trees and ocean with a few neighbors just a 2 minute walk down the lane. An abundance of wild flowers grow and rose bushes also grow all over the property as do the plentiful berries such as blueberries, raspberries and gooseberries. It’s a bird watchers paradise as well with blue jays, woodpeckers, finches and nesting humming birds to name a few. The deer come right up to the door to graze on the succulent grasses.
There is a white sand beach about a mile from the house were my dogs and I swim in the Atlantic ocean, or just comb the beach, it is almost always deserted. The endangered Pilfer (sand) pipers chase the waves in and out undisturbed.
We fish off the wharf down the street and chat with the local fisherman the harbor seals chase the mackerel in for us to catch. If we’re lucky we get to see a whale from the shore. Or we take a scenic drive along the many lighthouse roots.
The house is offered cheap and it could use some repairs but we live in it just fine. I am asking $49 000.00 Canadian Dollars for it. I will be sad to see it go but my hand is forced for personal reasons.
