Absolutely concur. Great value - huge portions of excellent food for the price. I highly recommend the calamari for an app - best calamari I've had in Halifax. Very well-cooked (not rubbery), and an amazing glaze/sauce.

I'm with Krissy on this one. A friend of my boyfriend recommended the place to him so we went one night. He got the calamari and I decided on lasagna. (when I eat at a new place I try to order something that I feel the chef can't possibly screw up and I've never ate a lasagna I didn't like) So, the food comes and I dig in. It was the worst tasting lasagna I have ever had. It had a really bad after taste which I can only compare to goat meat or cheese. It was so bad I just couldn't eat it.
Since my boyfriend didn't have any issues with his meal and I'm not really a confrontational person, when the waitress came by to ask if everything was ok, I just nodded my head and smiled but I guess she knew better because she went and got the manager and brought him out. I still tried to act as if I just wasn't very hungry but the manager didn't believe me either so I just ended up telling him the truth. Well, they apologized many times and told us that our meals was on them, which is the proper thing to do I suppose and we appreciated it, but we have never been back just because of that one bad time.

I am really surprised that the manager would do that, he is such a cheap ass IMO.

I am really suprised to read this.. I've dined there many times.. (over 20) and never had a complaint.. 1 time I forgot to order no mushrooms and when it came I just started picking them out and the waitress noticed it and took it fromme and broughtme a new plate with no mushrooms.. totally my fault for forgetting to mantion it at the time of ordering but it was great customer service ...
Their deserts are amazing as well.. i think you should give them another try... I've never hear a bad thing about them except from you 2 on here.

My fiance and I went there last summer and both landed in emergency with severe food poisoning. The worst kind, botulism. It took us both a week to recover and we were very dehydrated. It was the only thing we ate that day as well. So I would have to say I will never go back, but I realize that pretty much every restaurant will have their cases of inproperly prepared food, but this left a bad taste in our mouths, pardon the pun. lol

No, we never did call. We were too sick to even call for a week.....In retrospect, we definitely should have called just to let them know and see if this happened to anyone else but I figured they'd probably think we were just trying to scam them out of money or something, and we definitely weren't looking for another meal. Oh well, I will def. call if something like that ever happened to us again

are you sure it was botulism ?
Outbreaks of foodborne botulism involving two or more persons occur most years and usually caused by eating contaminated home-canned foods
The respiratory failure and paralysis that occur with severe botulism may require a patient to be on a breathing machine (ventilator) for weeks, plus intensive medical and nursing care. After several weeks, the paralysis slowly improves. If diagnosed early, foodborne and wound botulism can be treated with an antitoxin which blocks the action of toxin circulating in the blood. This can prevent patients from worsening, but recovery still takes many weeks. Physicians may try to remove contaminated food still in the gut by inducing vomiting or by using enemas.
and the health dept would be contacted and the restaurant closed until things were cleared up.
