What's the catch, the freeware ones usually have a income cap that makes them useless to anyone making a living but still to cheap to fork out $20 for Quicktax Basic.

No catch, it's full blown and 100% free for CRA's max 20 returns/yr. I've used it for 4 yrs now, it's great. I think it's a case of someone understanding it makes no sense to pay for forms to pay taxes. They likely do pretty good on donations too

I have used it for last 2 years and agreed it works good but not for everyone. It doesn't catch all the tax saving options like equivalent to spouce for single parents (a $9600 tax break) which has to be manually inputed as the wizard doesn't add it for you. Other then that, great program, netfile is great benefit and it's free so I really can't compain.

when i press netfile on it does it file it in cra right away or do i have to print it off and send it by mail the green bar goes across when i clicked the next thing and then it only has finsh so is it filed or not

So does NetFile work properly?

I've never netfiled. How do you send in your T4s, T5s, etc?

I've used Netfile for the past 3 years. They give you an access code, you don't need to mail anything.

You don't mail or include them at all, just the info from them. They suggest you hold on to them for up to 6 yrs years just in case. They have copies of them remitted from your employer as well though

Something I have also noticed with the software is that it calculates over payments of CPP.
