I went there today. I didn't really see any "hot" deals there. Sure there were some low prices, but most of the stuff was junky. They have mattresses there, and they want $300 for it, and I don't think it was even a queen. I paid $400 for my Sealy Posteurpedic queen... They don't have much for toys at all. And the appliances that I took a quick look at were dented or chipped. Definitely seconds.
All in all, if you are looking for a good deal, you're probably better off buying off here or Kijii. If you want to buy "new" try XSCargo... You're more likely to get a better product for a similar price.
Case in point, as I arrived at the checkout, there was an irate woman there returning some type of cabinet. When she opened the box, the thing was totally falling apart. And the box wasn't damaged... *shrug* The place reminded me of Dartmouth Surplus, with slightly cheaper pricing.

I am not sure how it was resolved. I'm going to assume that the money was refunded since they apparently sold out of all of them, including the display one. That was the last thing I heard as I walked out the door.
The service I recieved was courteous and friendly. All I bought was a first aid kit and a helecopter car airfreshener... No complaints there.
They did have a lot of Halloween stuff, and most of it was 50% off - but I never looked closely to see what the ticketed price was. So if Value Village is out of what you're looking for, you may want to try your luck there.

I am very glad to hear your cashier was courteous and friendly as I was that cashier !! ALSO I am very glad 99.9% of our customers do not feel the way you do about our store !!! I remember someone buying the first aid kit and air freshener BUT please introduce yourself next time and I would gladly show you around our store !!! PLEASE come back anytime for a second look !!

CanadaWide Liquidation World

Unfortunately Liquidation World buys from bankruptcies, liquidations, overstocks, and insurance claims. Some appliances sold in Ontario a while back were found to be from New Orleans. Not a big deal until you find out that they were in a flood, and they were NOT covered by any manufacturer's warranty since they were field scrapped and then sold by the insurance company. The warranty lasted as long as it took to get it out the door, and into your truck for the trip home.
Be very careful when buying major purchases from NON AUTHORIZED merchants.

How clearly is that explained to the customer would be my concern. Especially when they are comparative shopping with an authorized dealer selling scratch and dent that still comes with a full manufacturer's warranty less cosmetics? Are they told up front that there is NO manufacturer's warranty on these items. Buying something major like a home appliance with only a 60 day warranty is a gamble at best.

the signs are posted ALL over the section where the appliances are located AND really it is no different than buying the same items on all these for sale sites where there is NO warranty.....I am buying a dishwasher and taking my chances !

I'm actually an appliance servicer. So one piece of advice with Maytag dishwashers. A very common problem with them is that the rack adjusters are prone to breaking. If you are getting one, either don't buy one with the adjustable racks (you can raise or lower the rack to fit taller items either above or below it). Or if you truly want one, take the model number to a local appliance servicer. Find out if the adjusters or wheels are available alone. Some of these dishwashers require that you replace the entire rack. It would cost from $120 to $175 depending on the model. Be careful. Honestly, if you need a dishwasher, I'd buy a lower end model. Don't pay for features you're rarely going to use, and a lot less to go wrong. They are all mechanically virtually the same. If you shop around you can sometimes get basic models for less than $250.
