Any drug treatment centres in this city?
I called HRM, and they said to try Capital Health. Capital Health tells me they only treat people who have overdosed to call the police station and ask. I call the police, and they tell me they don't know of any. Like wtf? Does this city deal with their druggies by locking them all up or something, or is no one addicted in this town?
I'm not looking for anything hardcore like a Betty Ford clinic, however I am looking for something a little more in depth then your 12 step AA approach. If anyone knows of any place, please let me know. Thanks

I don't really have any constructive input on this, but I hope you find the help you (or whoever) need.

I worked for Capital Health Mental Health for a short time recently and they have groups for gambling, drugs and drinking. They don't just take people who have overdosed that's not true. Also, you can call and get an appt with a councillors. If you want, pm me and I can get you the phone number. Hope that helps.
Oh and I forgot to say that I think Capital Health has a few different clinics. I worked at the one in Sackville, but I believe they have a Halifax and Dartmouth Clinic as well. You can go to the one closest to you.

treatment for addiction in HRM
Under Capital Health you will find Addiction Treatment and Prevention Services. The telephone number is 424-5920. They can direct you as to how to get an intake and then get you referred on to various treatment options and/or including your own addiction counsellor. This services is covered under the provincial health care plan. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. If it matters, I started Addiction Aynonomous yesterday, and have an appointment for a counsellor on monday. Remember folks, moderation is key! Enjoy your stuff, just don't overdo it. 2 days with no rock and I'm $60 richer, wohoo. I'm happy, the future is starting to look bright
