Pop and coffee - Caffeine messes up your liver and it doesn't digest properly.

All bread products - They clog the liver.

Slim fast or No Name shakes for breakfast really do help, especially if your used to eating toast, bagels, or cereal for breakfast. If you don't eat breakfast at all, these help to balance out your diet.

Try not to eat -anything- after 7pm unless your high strung and going to burn it off.

Cheers,

Dr. Phil

One thing people always seem to forget, is to stay active.. start jogging, or even just walking, in the mornings or something. Exercise is just as important as eating well.

Nova, I am not trying to be a bitch or anything; but aren't you a Doctor? Maybe, this is unfair but I always think that Doctors and Nurses should be so healthy because they see so many health problems happen to people all the time, that are usually caused by a unhealthy lifestyle. I know for me I changed the way I eat because of a situation that I came across by working at the hospital. And I am still struggling to get to my ideal weight.

I understand that it’s not easy to make healthy decisions when working, and I am sure you work long hours, so that may lead to weight gain. If you are interested I have a lot of low-fat recipes, they are actually weight watcher recipes that I can send you. PM me if you are interested.

Smaller portions are key too. I tried the Atkins and lost 17lbs in a month and a bit. As soon as I started eating "normally" again, I gained it back and more!! I have always had weight issues, as a teen and as an adult. I had an eating disorder when I was a teenager and have always worried about my body image.

So January of last year, I decided to cut out sweets (I still have them on occasion) and eat smaller portions. I don't want to live my life with a no carb diet because I know I can't stick to that. I have lost 21 lbs over the year and I feel so much better. I don't care if it comes off slow, as long as it comes off!! If it takes another year to get the rest off, then that's ok too. Baby steps
