Default Allergies....../Eye rash

Anyone have experience with allergies? I've been going through hell with mine lately. At least I believe they are allergies. Every morning I wake up with blood shot eyes, puffy eyelids that hurt and a red, painful rash around my eyes. It will heal up, crack and dry and then start all over again. (It makes me look like crap)

I've gotten rid of my feather pillows; thinking this may be the problem. I've gone to the doctor and she suggested Aerius and I'm suppose to be getting a referral to an allergist, but the wait-list will be long. I am also using hydrocortisone cream around the eye area (doesn't seem to help).

I've started taking the Aerius and I'm hoping I will see my ugly rash and eye problems go away soon. I've only been using Aerius for 2 days and so far I don't see an improvement but I'm hoping I will soon.

I am also open to the idea that perhaps this is a form of dermatitis or conjunctivitis, so hopefully the allergist will help. I was surprised that my doc. didn't recommend a dermatologist.

Anyone ever go through anything like this?

Hiya!

It could be the makeup you use (if you use any) i would suggest speaking to your doctor.

When I spoke to my doctor, all she really did was refer me to an allergist (as I had requested allergy testing). At this point it could be anything that I use on my face or that comes in contact with it and that could take me a while to figure out unfortunately lol I was kind of hoping that someone may have gone through this face rash thing too, and had some sort of topical remedy in the interm. Like I said before, the hydrocortisone does not seem to be doing much to relieve the rash, it helps soothe it a bit, but does not take it away
