Is this Weird or what?
I go to Cobequid multi service centre , with complaints of in the middle of my ribs, where you stomach is and the Dr(Male) says he thinks it's an Ulcer So he says """"ok we'll get an EKG, Blood Work, an Antacid in me, and a Pelvic Exam!""" Ummmm A Pelvic Exam ?
I said to him what does a pelvic Exam got to do with pain way up here? He says just to check things out !!!! Like what the #@#%$ ?????????? He went out of my room, i got my coat back on and went passed the hall and the Dr, he asks where i'm going i said to use the phone,,,, Right out the main doors and back home, sure enough there is a message on my phone from him saying I left and they aren't sure why and if it persists go to my family Dr..
Ok now here is my Question..... Why not check out my ears , just to check things out?
Why a Pelvic Exam , just to check things out? IS THIS WEIRD TO YOU?
All the Weirdo did was Smile anyhow.GROSS!!!

Doctors know what they're doing. You should have stayed put. Pain can be referred from one area of the body to another, and maybe he was thinking that's what happened. Go back, get the damn pelvic exam. And don't stress out about it, they've seen worse. It's their job; they don't get any pleasure out of sticking gloved fingers and lubricated devices up your orifices. GO BACK. It's stupid to ignore a doctor's advice.

I concur. It could be endometriosis, which causes pain in weird spots. It could've been a uterine infection. It could've been a lot of different things, all of which you have to go in from that angle.
How old are you, Cindy? I think you've said that you have older teenagers, so perhaps it's an age related thing too. (As you know, women over 30ish have to be more careful about their reproductive systems.)
I'd go back to my own personal doctor, and talk to him/her.

Holy crap Cindy! WTF did you think he was going to do to you? You have a pain in your stomach so there very well can be something dealing with that "area", I would definitely go back to the hospital and get things checked out. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BACK!!!

And Trust me Not ALL Doctors know what they are doing!!!
I've had lots of pelvic exams for when there is a problem in that area, but this had nothing to do in that area what so ever!! He actually gave me the Creeps!! But anyhow ,,, i got my ulcer taken care of but not by him

Well if you were uncomfortable with him doing the examination alone, then you could have requested a nurse to be there while he did the examination. Just because there is a pain in one stop doesn't mean there isn't a problem in another, trust me I've heard this happen more than enough. It's a good thing you have everything checked out tho!

I thought whenever any male doctor was looking down there that there was some sort of rule that a female nurse had to be there. Whenever I go there is.

I am glad you got everything checked out. I think I would have been a little weirded out as well to tell you the truth.
Not saying the doctor didn't have a valid reason for checking................
There have been a couple of doctors that I know of who have been fired for similar incidences. One for example, was doing breast examinations and (lengthy ones) when someone was coming in with foot problems. Anywhoo, he was let go (ongoing issues of this sort of thing). Doctors are not always very professional, there are some real creeps out there, just like in any profession.
Again, I'm not saying this particular doctor didn't have valid reasons for checking, but just saying that they are not always on the up and up either.

Uterine infections dont hurt in your ribs... i should know ive had plenty of them in my lifetime!!! Unless is has to do with kidneys, in which cases if there is pain in your ribs you might have a blockage in your kidneys or a stone...
The pain could also be GallBladder... I know all too well of how they feel, thats why I got mine removed last Oct! Severe pain in your right rib area, pain in your back... and it dosnt matter which way you lay down you cant get comfortable from the pain.. it sucked!
