Re: High-Def HD-DVD movies for trade or sale
the problem is, witht he format being dead and all, a lot of these movies you have are selling for under $10 new now. Wal-Mart for one is clearing out all their stock.

Re: High-Def HD-DVD movies for trade or sale
well, thats what trading is good for, if you have something I want and I have something you want, we trade And good luck finding any sort of selection at Walmart because i'm pretty sure they never carried very much hi-def in the
1st place.

Even though he was kind of being an ass about it, he has a point. I picked up Eastern Promises, Pan's Labrynth, and Hot Fuzz for $8.83 each at Wal-Mart this weekend.

Re: High-Def HD-DVD movies for trade or sale
they are in mkv format and are whatever resolution you download them at, i get mostly 720 since my monitor wont do 1080, but if you have a widescreen then you should get them at 1080. ill tell you, the movies look so much nicer and crisper, i have the simpsons movie in dvd-rip, and bluray, and the color and sharpness are a million times better

could you burn to a disc and play in a HDDVD or blue ray player?

Re: High-Def HD-DVD movies for trade or sale
you can if you have a HDDVD or blu-ray writer.. HDDVD burners/media never made market tho. MKV files are only played via HTPC's (home theatre PC's) although I do have one, I don't have the video snuff in it for this, and prefer to use the 360/PS3 for High Def playback.
Blu-Ray writers are about $400, discs are $27 each locally or $12 imported (packs of 25) Only down side is very few writers support dual layer, and the media for double layer don't exist yet, and most releases online are in the 40-50GB range.. Anyone have a BRD-Shrink program yet? Make these 50gb movies fit on a 25 to make a writer half fesiable?
I will stick with HDWMV and use MKV2VOB for the non-HDWMV releases They arn't as sharp as true blu-ray/HD-DVD, but they definatly give it a run for its money. If anyone wants to start a blu-ray trading ring I may consider different.... lol.
