Actually, they sell for $269.99 new. Scalpers like this can just go pound sand. They line their pockets with the crushed dreams of children.

i wouldn't buy at above retail,i'd give my kid a nice card and explain that after chritmas they will get the system they want.
why let some "adult" line there pockets ????

i don't know of many kids that have $500 to drop on a video game system.

sounds more like overhyped media blitzing of "must have" gifts.

anyways, if some overzealous consumer wants to spend $500 to make sure their kid gets a wii this xmas is their perogative.

I know i'd sell my wii in a second if somone offered $400-500 for it.

What a shame... to be stuck with a wii, whatever would you do with that?!

It is there perogative, however if it weren't for people like this who just buy them to make a profit, then there might be some left for people to buy who's kids really want it for Christmas.

A coworker of mine spent hours in a line up last year to get one of these, only to have a few of the lucky ones offer it to her for many hundreds more after they purchased it. Nice....

patience and persistence pays off.

and it seems the people buying them sooner than your friend have more of both.

i don't agree with the practice, but that is the world market model we live by, it's how much of consumerism works.

you know that little graph you learn in junior high?

cost and demand...

well it applies to this scenario as well.

there's a market for 400-500 wiis, and it looks like the seller is tapping in on that market.

I'm pretty sure most people shopping around are aware of the MSRP of the Wii, and this is obviously not meant for those people that don't want to pay more for it.

Not pissed off....maybe you need the extra money to buy gifts for your children or family. But I feel the need to ask....so why bother losing time from work and standing in line in the freezing cold if you don't really want one??! I mean...how much are you actually going to make once you deduct your hourly wage, transportation to buy it, and your time in the cold? Is it really worth it??
