i'm looking for an xbox 360 that had not been updated with the fall 2006 update. i don't really need a the hard drive/controllers/cables, just the console itself. you can call me at 742-4216 or email/pm me.

Why are you looking for a pre fall 2006 update? And how do you know if it is or not.

that should explain his reasoning. You can check in the system tab under system info. should say D: 2.0.1888 or something as its scrolling the EULA.

... I read it and i couldn't see a reaon why you would want an earlyer version.. the new one sounds better.. is there some sort of mod block or somthing on the new system?

And the 360 I just got is made in 2006 so its not what your looking for.

2858 is too old to run linux, it don't have the hypervisor hole. It CAN be downgraded to 1888 kernel though, which is the launch kernel cause between these 2 updates there was no efuse blown.

the reason i want that version kernal in particular is just for gamerscore points. you are able to put other peoples game saves on your xbox and get their achievements with some games.

umm, that makes no sense.

1) Gamerscore points/achievements don't do anything unless you sign into live, which you can't do unless you update.
2) Upon updating the console to play newer games, your uploaded gamesaves would be corrupt as they don't have your ConsoleID on them, and you will lose your gamescore/acheievements.
3) Very few games will run on that firmware. Only those made up until ~2 weeks after the kernel was released.

360 gamesaves will resign any gamesave in their database for your console, so it looks like you made the save, and thus can use the achievements/points that come with it. Now if you want to use a friends gamesave thats a different story, as you would have to go through them to resign it to your console.

if you have 2 360's ( an offline one and an updated online one ) you can take a memory card/hard drive with your xbox live profile from your online console and put on the gamesaves that you can get off of 360gamesaves via your pc. Then take that mem card/hard drive and put it on the nonupdated console, play the game and voila...you get free gamerscore points. Then take that memcard/hard drive and delete the gamesaves you have on there from 360gamesaves (so u dont get banned) and put it back in the online console to update your score on xbox live.

right now the resigner is not working

they only had it up for a few hours before it crashed their system. that was in end of may/first of june i believe. so this will just hold me over if/until it's back online.

i wanted a second offline xbox 360 anyway so i thought i might as well get one that i can get some extra gamersore points on. when i get all of the gamerscore points ( over 40000 points available i believe) that i can out of it for me and a few friends, i can just update up as i need. i really wouldnt spent that kinda money just to boost my gamerscore. plus i like messin around with with 360's...it's kinda my little hobby.

BTW Sabeen...i still have that mod chip for you too. i got really busy in halifax that day and couldnt make it to F/S. Sorry dude. PM me with your adress again and i will ship it to you.
