LF: older PC barebones - NS4Sale

OK, I have looked everywhere I can think and I cannot find a PC to suit my needs. This is going to be a second machine in my home, but I need it to meet certain criteria, as listed below.

I'm looking for a semi-old machine, but something I can add to and bring it up to snuff. Needs to accept DDR or better RAM and I'd like to see 1.5G or faster processor, if that's reasonable. I have drives and RAM to add, I have monitors, onboard sound and video are fine to start off, as I will bump video once I hvae the unit, dependant on the card types it will accept.

I currently have 2 older machines I am somewhat bodging into one. The only issue with these older units is RAM, they are both running PC133 RAM, meaning I can't seem to find any 512+ sticks.....I really only need to get to 1G of RAM, as processrs on both are adequate for my purposes.

If anyone out there has an old tower they are collecting dust with, I'm willing to pick up, within HRM. As well, my alternate solution is to somehow find a couple 512+ sticks of the older RAM (PC133ish) and I can finish off the system I have to meet my needs.

For what it's worth, I do electrical and LVT wiring as well, if that's a possible swap for a decent unit or parts. Trading my knowledge of trade skills for your spare PC parts makes us both win, I think.....

OK, to amend this to a briefer request:

I'm in need of a mobo and processor that will accept DDR RAM. Base as one can get. Aything extra that comes with it is a boonus (case, drives, etc)

I have and willing to trade, the following systems:

1.7G P4 w 512 Ram (PC133) 60 gig HDD onboard sound/video and CD Burner. In a large case.

1.4G (I think) P4 w/128 RAM (PC100) 40 gig HDD, onboard sound/video and CD drive, not sure off hand if it's a burner or not.

I'm looking to either swap one or both of these lower end units for something a tiny bit newer. Naturally, if trading up, the barebones I am looking for will be closer to running than I listed. the 1.7 machine is running now, XP Pro for testing, and the second can be ready to run within 48 hours, again, XP Pro for testing. Either can be set up with a valid XP Home license as well, should you need it. Both have 10/100 onboard LAN as well.

depending on your price range, greenlyph sells 512 meg sticks of pc133 ram, although it is about 80 bucks a stick

I've looked and at that price, by bumping the current systems to spec will run me around $60 more than buying a tower from Doodads and adding the pieces. My hope is that someone has an older machine that fits my needs collecting dust. I'm putting a cap of $50 on anything I buy, outside of a complete, running system, at which point I may double my budget.

I found there were a lot available not long ago....of course that was when I thought I had what I needed......typical.
