LF: Cheap PCIx Video Card
Hi all,
I'm looking for a cheap PCIx video card as my server is currently using on-board and sharing the memory, I'd like to free that up with whatever I can find. Doesn't matter if its nVidia or ATI, PM me what you've got and a price. I can pick-up anywhere in HRM.
Cheers,
Exercitus

If you have a regular PCI slot open in the machine I would suggest seeing if you can find someone with an old PCI video card probably be able to get it for free or 5-10 dollars at most.

PCIe and PCIx are different that is why I suggested the PCIx card at ATI if nobody still has an old PCIx video card hanginga round. The first two offers are PCIe cards which is not what he wants.

PCI slots are for the old type cards with no x and no e.
PCI - 133MB/S
PCI-X (64b/133Mhz) - 1GB/S
AGP (8x) - 4GB/S
PCI-E (x16) - 8GB/S
PCI-X was and is intended for networking/server related stuff, for servers needing a faster PCI buss to communicate through for both SCSI cards and Network cards...
PCI-E x16 slots (also PCI-Express) on the other hand is and will be ONLY dedicated to Video Graphics cards just like AGP was... That is if it uses a PCI-E x16 slot...
Regular PCI-E slots (the smaller ones) are slated to replace the current PCI slot...
So there you have it, if you are suggesting the use of an old card you want to suggest a PCI. The guy was actually looking for a PCIe video card which btw he has already found.
