For Sale: 1985 Toyota 4-Runner,dark grey,256 000 KM,2 door (all 84-89 4-Runners were 2 doors),4 cyl EFI (22R-E),5 speed manual,4x4,solid front (last year Toyota used it) & rear straight axles with leaf springs,removable factory fiberglass cap,roll bar,sun roof,running boards,cruise control,Alarm system with sensors and back up system.MVI (safety inspection) until Dec 2007.
Has the following work done in the past several years:
-New Toyota 84 month warranty battery
-Re-cored original radiator
-New NGK oxygen sensor
-All new brake system components
-New catalytic converter
-New headlights (past year)
-New belts,rotor,distributor,spark plugs
-Intake manifold cleaned profesionally
-Rear licence plate bulb with housings
-4 Custom stainless steel brackets for torsion bar on tailgate
-Clutch replaced
-Front exhaust pipe
Needs the following work:
-Needs some body work (just cosmetics to make it look nice specially tail gate)
-Frame mostly in back & cab/body mounts (common problem on Toyotas and other Japanese suv's/trucks)
-Load proportional/sensing valve bracket at rear axle rusted off (you can easily make one)
-Driver's side door pins worn so door must be raised when closing it
-P235/75R15 tires are worn and will obviously not pass MVI in Dec
-Windshield has two cracks on top left corner and would pass every year but with new MVI laws not anymore
-Engine burns a bit of oil (0.5 liter/every 5000 KM) but timing chain kit & cover replaced at 200 000 KM
-Parking brake needs re-adjusting
-Passenger side rear wheel brake cylinder is slightly leaking underload (I have a new cylinder) even though ALL BRAKING SYSTEM PARTS WERE REPLACED 3 YEARS AGO like rotors,calipers,shoes,pads,lines,master cylinder
I forgot to include that this rig was driven daily including today.I have the Toyota tire jack,tool kit,warranty book,owner's manual and factory service manual which I paid $200 from Toyota Publications in California but is now available for free download:

This vehicle is for a shadetree mechanic and I am asking $2000 OBO (New Toyota 4-Runners cost $40K or so and don't have removable roof or solid front axle).I have 2 pictures to send upon e-mail request.No LOW BALLERS.Located in Dartmouth.
