OMG, you can sure tell the ones who haven't a clue what they are doing and are only in it for the money or whatever.

Calling them Idiots is one nice way of putting it.
Alot of people don't seem to either understand or want to undestand the actual defination "Purebred." Many just assume that because the dog looks like a "German Shepherd" than it must be a Purebred German Shepherd. In the hobby of dog breeding, the word
purebred causes controversy, largely because of unresolved differences of opinion over what constitutes a dog breed. Nevermind that amount of hours and money we as "Purebred Breeders" spend on our hobby to ensure we can offer only the purest quality of our breed.
Ask any reputable breeder and they will tell with dead set honest and a straight face - there is no money in breeding dogs. We do this because we want to be able to provide loving homes with that new addition that we hope will bring a family some everlasting joy for years to come, not to get rich or pass one headache onto another. As a purebred animal they have been meticulously documented pedigrees, which we as breeders go over with a fine tooth comb every time we consider breeding. We try not to do a bad or iffy breeding just to produce a litter full of problems, as that not only produces a black mark against us, but it really hurts the breed as well.
So word of advice for anyone seeking a canine addition - please go with a breeder, not the pet store, and definately not a puppy mill or back-yard breeder. If you happen to find someone selling a dog as purebred ask for the proof - CKC/AKC registration papers and the pedigree are the best proof anyone can provide. One main reason I highly recommend breeders (and not just because I am one) is most breeders offer a health guarentee. Would it not be best to have some peace of mind knowing if somehow or some reason that "Fido" just wasn't meant to be with you for long, that you can always have the option of getting another that is somehow related to him.
But hey thats only my opinion.
