I bought the car back in March 2006 to sell for a friend who was moving
to Toronto (she was responsible for the body damage by the way.. two
words: underground parking... LOL). The car ran well and I didn't feel
like going back into another lease so I just bought the car from her and
drove it around, car payment free, until about 3 weeks ago when I
purchased a new vehicle (planned purchase in advance and not due to any
issues with the Sunfire).
I spent about $2000 getting the Sunfire to pass safety (rad fan
replaced, headlight connections and center console replaced,
transmission fluid changed, gas tank replaced with new, etc). I have
driven it for about 20,000km - mostly highway between Sackville and my
office in Bayers Lake.
The car runs good but it is very much a beater. If you are looking for a
sacrificial car to run around in this winter, you might want to consider
this one. The mechanically gifted among us will love this car -- there
is nothing major wrong with the car that I can tell.. mostly minor
things that any good backyard mechanic could fix.
Asking price is $1500 ($2000 if you want to haggle.. LOL).
