Cottage Pudding...
Pound Cake:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup of milk
Cream sugar, butter, vanilla together. Add eggs, beat one in at a time. Mix together dry ingredients. Add milk and dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternatively.
Chocolate Sauce for Cake:
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cocoa
2 tbsp flour
dash of salt
1/3 cup of water
butter the size of small egg
Mix sugar and flour together then add water, salt and butter. Bring to a boil in a sauce pan for 5 min. Spoon over fresh pound cake!
This was my Grandmother's recipe and it is soooo good. Very, very bad, but sooooo good.
